Trump Visits Asia

President Donald Trump began a 12-day trip to Asia on November 3. He will visit five nations. One goal is to strengthen ties with Asia. Another is to promote trade. Trump is slated to end his trip in the Philippines. There, the president will attend the East Asia Summit.

White House officials say Trump may squeeze in a meeting with Russian president Vladimir Putin before the summit. “We want Putin’s help on North Korea,” Trump said.

Trump’s visit to Asia is his longest foreign trip since taking office, in January. It is also the longest visit to Asia by a U.S. president since 1991.
