A Beloved Bear Returns
Author A.A. Milne introduced the sweet and lovable Winnie-the-Pooh to readers more than 90 years ago. The four books in the Winnie-the-Pooh series follow the adventures of the honey-loving bear and his friend, a boy named Christopher Robin.
The adventure continues in Disney’s new live-action movie Christopher Robin. It hits theaters August 3. Now, Christopher Robin, played by actor Ewan McGregor, is an adult with a job and a family. He faces the many responsibilities of adulthood. But soon Pooh and his friends—including Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore—arrive to bring Christopher some cheer.
Actor Jim Cummings voices the roles of Pooh and Tigger. He says Pooh returns to Christopher’s life at the perfect moment. “When Christopher Robin is sad, Pooh shows him how to see the world through honey-colored glasses,” Cummings told TIME for Kids. “Pooh brings childlike wonder back to his friend’s life.”
With his pals, Christopher sets out for new adventures, getting a much-needed break from grown-up life. It’s enough to make the adults in the audience feel young. Cummings says, “Everyone’s face lights up when they see Pooh. It doesn’t matter whether they’re 5 years old or 50.”
